Moore’s work depicting mother and the nurturing role at a time of human suffering is referenced as nod to traditional values and roles. Bronze is used for ‘Feeder’ through spray paint to give the illusion of traditional roles in an autobiographical piece questioning if a return to traditions aid the nurture of current issues arising from men adapting to shifts in equality. Distorted figures resulting from the demands of parenthood are referenced in ‘Too Loved’. Intended also as a sarcastic interlude to question what is deemed as art from an artist and mother. Moore’s abstract forms later influence the shape of abstract pieces such as ‘Born’.
