Fluxus art movement – emphasis on the artistic process over the final produce. The notion from one of its main influencers John Cage - that you should embark on an artwork without a conception of its end has become an unavoidable trait of my practice. In any work that I produce the making and creating is imperative to my work. The negotiation of placement, use of fluid constraints, feeling and questioning is what determines the piece. Experimental in its delivery the connection to the Fluxus movement has influenced a deeper exploration of process as the driver as seen in ‘Spine’ and ‘Absolve’.
